Friendster is basically designed to cater American users, AkoModelo on the other hand is Filipino-made, all concepts and ideas are crafted to fit Filipino style and it has a big difference with other social networking sites.

5. What is a slam book?

Slam Books are traditionally a notebook passed among students, where the reader adds anonymous comments. These books have been in existence since at least the 1940's. Slam books often list one person per page, and readers add their anonymous comments under the person's name (often slamming the person listed).

• slamming the person commented on
• the students' habit of slamming the book shut and hiding it to avoid its confiscation.
